Absolutely worth a visit, especially if you book in for a tour (free!) as the gallery staff are amazing. There's a small but really interesting selection of painting and sculpture with even work by artists I had no previous interest in brought alive by our guide. A brilliant afternoon!

Very interesting visit checking out several Scottish artists. They appear to have many works and regularly switch exhibits so check back to see what’s on view. A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

We really enjoyed our visit last Saturday. A very friendly member of staff welcomed us instantly, explained what's on what's next etc. Really nice architecture and atmosphere, I'd totally recommend everyone to pay a visit. The Ferguson collection and the young Scots exhibition are very good! There is a great play room for kids that adults would enjoy too, well we did, especially the CCTV camera attached to a microscope to view insects, seashells and what have you on a monitor.. if you are visiting Perth don't leave without checking the exhibitions out here!

We popped in here to see the stone of destiny, as we have always wanted to see it, on arrival we weren't sure if we could get tickets as the website isn't very clear that there is walk in tickets available on the day and that online tickets must be booked 24 hours prior to your visit, which is a bit stupid if you ask me. Although the museum and cafe were very busy, we were the only ones going in to see the stone of destiny probably because they don't advertise these walk in tickets! The presentation was very interesting but there was limited seating and no photos were allowed which is quite disappointing. The museum itself has a good variety of items on display although the layout probably could be better. There isn't any seating that we could see and the toilets are located upstairs, we didn't see a lift so not sure how accessible this museum is. There are free wheelchairs to use at the door and there is a small shop with a good selection of gifts. We were quite impressed with the museum and definitely much better than the v&a in dundee but there is room for improvements. Definitely worth a visit when in Perth!

interesting temporary exhibitions (there was a photo exhibition on with some great old photos from a Glasgow pub). the main space isn't huge (in terms of exhibits), but it's varied and interesting.

La visita al museo no termina hasta que entras en el WC, digno de un museo de arte moderno.

The only disappointing aspect of this fabulous museum experience was that we had totally underestimated the time required to see it!❤️ There is a 3,000-year-old wooden boat. (I kept thinking: 'This boat was around during the reign of King David of Israel!) There are cup-marked ancient standing stones and historical displays of trades and tools. Supremely, there's a FREE separate display for the Stone of Destiny. (Yes, it's the actual one!). NB You have to book ahead to be/join a small group to see the introductory immersive AV experience, then the Stone itself. We only had 45 minutes and it was not nearly enough! We are going back soon, we hope, to spend at least a good part of a day there.❤️👏 Positive suggestion to the authorities: the £5 booklet on sale nicely features the main displays but it would be lovely to have the option of a larger illustrated version.👍
